Ford Scientists have made C02 productive

Ford Engineers have been working hard for decades to do more with the products that previously lined our landfills.  In their efforts to make car production more sustainable they have made some pretty fantastic developments to the industry.  












For instance, Ford started using Soy based polyurethane foams in the seat cushions before any other manufacturer.  Suede fabrics used in the interior of many of the Ford vehicles are made from recycled pop bottles.  Even the floor mats are made from discarded water bottles.   



The Ford carbon reduction strategy is no different.  In an effort to further reduce pollution and waste Ford has made new strides for the automotive industry.  

The Co2 from the assembly factories are redirected to waste recycling facilities instead of being fully released into the air.  And don't forget that Ford has the largest living roof top spanning about 454,000 square feet on the assembly plant of the F-150 in Michigan.  
The C02 that is captured in the carbon reduction strategy is also polymerized and combined with additives to produce high quality plastics that Ford owners rely upon.  The plastics are then injection molded into whatever shape and form that Ford needs to meet and exceed the needs of America.  You may be asking what parts of the car exactly.  Durable plastic parts of your vehicle that have been enhanced by the C02 redirection include everything from cupholders, gear shifters, and seats.
