How Do You Know If It's Time For A Wheel Alignment?

Do I need a wheel alignment?  Ford of Ventura Service can help
You're not a bad driver, it just happens.  Pot holes and poorly maintained roads are often the culprit of affecting your vehicle's wheel alignment.  Even bumping a curb can affect your wheel alignment greatly.  Even if it creates the smallest alignment change it can greatly affect how your ties wear over time.  Ford of Ventura Service recommends checking your alignment every 6,000 miles to ensure you get the best value out of your tires especially with some of the rough roads in Ventura County.  Being vigilant about your wheel alignment can save you money by extending the life of your tires, sometimes greatly.  Not only does poor alignment cause premature tire wear but it also can affect how your vehicle drives.  There is no warning light that brings poor alignment to your attention.  You may notice that your vehicle isn't driving as smooth as it once did or even notice vibration through the steering wheel.  You vehicle may also pull and be crooked while driving straight.  These can all be signs you need an alignment.

Ford of Ventura Service Department checks the angels of your tires and wheels to ensure that they meet and match the strict angels that it left the factory.  But there are some things you can do to get the most out of your existing tires.
  • Maintain the recommended air pressure in your tires.  (Check your manufacturer tag on your drivers door.)
  • Drive like Grandma.  Driving with a more conservative air puts less strain on the steering and suspension of your vehicle that are vital to keeping correct alignment.
  • Reduce the junk in your trunk.  Extra weight in the rear of your vehicle can exacerbate existing issues to throw your vehicle even further off recommended alignment.
